Waters Guide Service
Captain Gene Allen is a licensed
USCG Master and Texas Parks & Wildlife All Water Fishing Guide with over 40 years
experience fishing the Texas Gulf Coast, primarily the Galveston and Matagorda
Bay complexes. The last 16 years he has spent wading, drifting, kayak fishing,
and duck hunting East Matagorda Bay and adjacent waters. A full time resident
of Sargent, Captain Gene and his wife Kate own and operate Caney “Y” Vacation
Rentals located near the mouth of Caney Creek. Captain Gene promotes family fishing
and enjoyment of our local fishery resources, while always mindful of and encouraging
their conservation. As an accomplished birder, he also conducts birding tours
and sunset cruises.
Captain Chris Farley is
U.S. Coast Guard licensed and also carries the Texas State Guide License. Capt.
Chris is knowledgeable of the Gulf of Mexico waters and has been fishing the Freeport,
Sargent and Matagorda areas for 20 years. He is dedicated to making your successful
fishing experience delightful and memorable, one that you will want to soon repeat.

Gulf Coast Weekly Fishing Report
For fishing inside Texas waters, you must have a TEXAS fishing
license for all fisherman 17-65, plus a 3-day salt water sport fishing license
(if applicable). You can easily purchase a fishing license at many sporting goods
stores, convenience stores, tackle shops, and bait camps.
